What brings you closer to God? Is it opening the Bible, praying, serving others, being a parent, or praising in worship? ( just some examples)
For me, it is praise. When I feel down or stuck in my head, I put on Christian music. That is my cue to turn to God. There is something special about singing praise.
I mostly lip-sync when I am around other people—let’s just say I was not made for the choir. But when I am home or alone in the car, I sing out loud.
My point is simple: your neighbor’s path does not have to be your main path. We all build our own unique relationship with God. It is deeply personal between you and Him.
We share His word to help others find comfort and guidance, but the best way to do that is to lean on Him ourselves. He never fails. So whenever you get the chance to do what brings you closest to God, do it. The closer you get to Him, the more blessed you will feel through Jesus Christ, no matter what problem you face.
