Renewed by Grace: A Daily Walk in God’s Mercy
Good morning, and may God bless everyone reading this. I am so deeply thankful that God’s grace and mercies are new every single morning (Lamentations 3:22–23), especially today.
It is a powerful truth that we are forgiven even before we commit a sin. This means there is no amount of sin in the world that could separate you from God’s grace and mercy—if only you would “pick up the phone” and call Him. He is waiting for your call. He died for your past, present, and future sins, knowing exactly what you would do, yet He still chose to die on the cross for you.
Walking in Conviction, Not Condemnation:
Does this mean we should sin all the more so that grace may abound? Absolutely not (Romans 6:1). However, God is a loving Father who makes room for us to make mistakes, provided we are learning from them. We are called not to “live” in those mistakes, which means we should not continue in a sinful way once we are convicted by the Holy Spirit.
Those closest to me know the trials I am currently navigating. Honestly, I would have been content just continuing on as I was, but God said, “No! Not today, Satan!” Even while I was still sinning, He changed my heart about it.
The Armor of God:
It is a constant battle, but that is why He gives us the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10–18). As a friend of mine says: “Leave it on and never take it off.” We should shower with it on and sleep with it on. By keeping that armor on at all times, we can fight off temptation through His strength. It is only by Him and through Him that I feel I am rebounding so quickly.
The Magnitude of His Love:
Let us sing continual praises to the One who has the name above every other name. He is the God who breathed out the stars and planets—a massive, massive God. (Louie Giglio has an incredible sermon on the sheer size of God). This is the Creator of all things seen and unseen.
This same God knit you together in your mother’s womb and knows you by name. I dare say He even knows you by your face and your scent. He loves you so deeply that the English language—and likely every other language—cannot fully express it. So, when you stumble, trip, or slip, always remember to fall forward catching the hand of Jesus. Falling into the grace and mercy He lavishes on us daily.
A Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, Please help us. Help us when we mess up, and give us the courage to “fess up” to what we have done wrong. Help us not to be so overwhelmed by shame that we hide from You; instead, help us run boldly into the throne room of grace. Without that grace, I could not have written these words today. On a day filled with reminders of yesterday, help us to stay focused on You and Your overflowing mercy.
Amen. 🙏🙏
