Have you ever felt alone when caught up in some kind of situation, that nobody could get you out of? The only one who you had left to turn to, was God himself. How do you react in that situation?

Last week I received some news of a concern with my health. It was like the thing that tipped me over the edge and I fell flat on my face. The tears wouldn’t stop pouring down my face and I didn’t know why I felt so overwhelmed by a new diagnosis that I was given. My emotions were running high and I just felt self defeated in thinking, there’s always something, there’s always something more to add to my already full plate of things to deal with. I wanted to tell someone other than my husband, but I didn’t want to worry anyone. I ended up breaking down at my volunteer work and it was good to tell someone finally and to let it out, about how worried about it I had been.

Come Saturday, I told my group of intercessory sisters about it and they prayed for me; I felt so much better. I had forgotten that God is bigger than anything that I can be faced with in life. My friends prayed healing over me and we all believed in my healing. We are all trusting in God for my healing. That changed everything. To have that love, support and prayer really lifted my spirit. Anyone trying to ruin the peace that God has given me over this situation, has to exit the picture. There’s one thing in believing in Jesus for my healing, but it is quite another, to let others come in and take control of everything that God is doing to help me in this situation. So I’m learning to say no, to any individual or people who think that they have the right to tell me or my medical team what to do. I have to believe that God is putting me through all of this, for my own good. It may not look like it or seem like it, but I believe it’s all for His glory and so I continue to submit to Him.

After a couple of days of not being able to stop crying, I have finally come to grips with the diagnosis and I believe that God can heal it. Even if He doesn’t heal it, I am still going to continue loving Jesus and following Him, all the days of my life. He has helped me through so much in my life, I can’t blame Him for anything. He gives me peace, He is my strength, He is my everything, He is and always will be my first love, because He first loved me. He pursued me all of my life, even before I made Him Lord and Saviour of my life. Come what may, I’m living for Jesus and what He wants for my life; even if I don’t understand it, even if I don’t agree with it, even if I don’t like it; I will follow Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:3

You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
