I was once again encouraged to touch the hearts of my small “Tea – At – Timmies” group this past Friday.
I had made a “cootie -catcher”. It is the paper game from my childhood and maybe yours. Instead of fortune – telling, I found some “encouragement phrases” to put on the flaps. Each one went away with an encouraging word. Mine was “FAITH IS YOUR ANCHOR IN EVERY STORM”
I found that in my life’s situations over the many years as a believer, my faith is my anchor. It provides strength and stability.
Four years ago, my husband of 53 years passed away. That was one of the hardest storms I faced in my life. He had Parkinson’s as well as other health issues.  His health was failing, and he had to be hospitalized after frequent falls. He was moved to a nursing home a few hours away from our location. As I didn’t drive, I had to rely on others to go and see him. It was very overwhelming for me. I had to arrange everything for the Celebration of Life and handle all the legalities that follow after a passing. My stability came in the form of support from my church family and friends with words of encouragement. I love scrapbooking, and the cards that the family and I received were placed in my binder for future reference.
This is one storm of many. May your faith be strong in such times. Faith IS our anchor in every storm.
