This poster was given to me a number of years ago. Daily I look at this as it is on the wall by my dining room table. Weakness means, “lack of strength, power or determination.” (OXFORD dictionary). This is how I felt 4 years ago when my husband passed away from Parkinson’s and other life – threatening ailments. I had to learn to navigate through all the legal aspects and arrangements for the celebration of life. I felt His Presence within as I prepared for this event. I had written the eulogy and lined up the program and presented it along with my husbands favorite hymns. I know now as I look back that God was there with me and made me strong out of my weakness.
All this reminds me of how God called different characters to lead His people out of their weakness of the wilderness wanderings to the place where they could worship once more. Hebrews 11 presents such a great memorial of the many leaders found in the WORD. There is Joshua, Moses, Noah and many others who stood up to courage in their moments of weakness.
We all face situations of life that make us scared, weak, insecure, not knowing what the next step should be or look like. May we be brave as we navigate through our wilderness experiences, and be humbled when we see victories at “the end of the tunnel”. May we praise the God who is the Lion of Judah to fight for us, the comfort us and to be thankful in our victories.
I am so thankful for the wildernesses He has brought me through in order to grow more Christ-like in my attitudes motives and walk with Him. Without Him I can do nothing. Without Him I would surely fail.
To be strong in our faith, we need to be into the WORD daily, prayer and with friends and church family to encourage each other in our daily struggles of life. I am blessed to be a part of a small group that meets every week to encourage each other on as we tread our life’s’ path here on earth. May the Lord bless you today with enough joys to keep you thankful and enough challenges to keep you trusting.
