Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
What does it look like when this scripture comes to life? Personally I think it goes hand in hand also when God says in
Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
When we realise and remember about who God is, that He is The Almighty and all powerful, we can rest in His loving embrace. Meaning that we don’t have to worry about anything because everything is under His control. He wants us to rely and depend on Him not just for some things, but for all things. He wants us to sit down with Him, and speak to Him just like we would, if we could actually see Him in the physical sitting down to have a cuppa with us. I say this to so many people, that The Lord God; Father God; Jesus and Holy Spirit is always available at any time of day or night, for you to come to Him and pour out all that is on your mind and heart. That includes days that were good and days that weren’t so good. We need to understand also that God is always with those who have put their whole trust and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour over their lives. As believers, we also have God’s Spirit residing inside of us. So God is always with us, no matter what time of day it is or where we are or where we are going. Prayers can be prayed anywhere at any time, whether it be on your knees leaning upon a couch, on the floor with your whole body facing down, or be it in the shower, in the car as you’re driving – anywhere, anytime, that’s how much God loves you and is available to you. God never sleeps and never slumbers, so He’s always happy to hear from you and He wants to help you with what you are going through, the best thing that we can do in times of trouble, is to pray to Abba Father God, for Him to help you with what you are praying about.
Rest in Jesus for our weariness and exhausted, bodies, minds and spirits, means we can turn to Him, about everything that has caused us to be weary and flat out exhausted. We can confidently expect that when we call on Him, for rest and lay our burdens at His feet, He will give us a sweet slumber of rest, rejuvenating and replenishing us for a new day, full of new opportunities of doors opening for us to do work for His Kingdom.
I know and completely understand all too well, what it feels like to want to sleep your life away, because you feel exhausted most of the time, but there are things that need to be done. All you need to do to conquer this, is ask The Lord Jesus, to help you have the strength and energy that you need to complete the tasks ahead. You may completely pass out into a deep sleep, once you have done everything that needed to be done. Just praise The Lord Jesus, that He helped you through your day.
When it feels like you cannot go any further in your own strength, look to Jesus to help out. Trust in Him completely, because He never fails.
