Consistency is the key to victory.

On the seventh day, they rose in the morning and marched around the city seven times in the very same manner. It was only on this specific day that they circled the city seven times.

Joshua 6:15

————————–

After receiving instructions and assurances from God, Joshua and the people of the camp continued to march around the walls of Jericho once each day for six days.

For six days, it was the daily routine of the Israelites to march around the walls of Jericho.

They strictly and faithfully obeyed God’s command.

————————–

Just imagine: every morning they would rise, immediately step out of their camp, and look to see if there were any changes in the wall.

They must have thought to themselves with a sense of anticipation: “Surely, after marching around the wall today, we will see cracks appearing in it.”

On the first day, there was no change in the wall; on the second day, still no change; and on the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth days—there was absolutely no change.

Don’t you think they must have harbored doubts in their hearts, wondering whether this wall would ever actually fall?

“We have seen no change whatsoever in the condition of the wall. It stands just as tall and firm as before; even after marching around it for six days, it remains completely unaltered.”

————————–

As the Israelites marched around the walls of Jericho day after day, the guards stationed on those walls must have mocked them, saying: “Look! Look! They’ve come back again today!”

The guards on the walls of Jericho likely remarked to one another: “These Israelites have gone mad!”

The Israelites must have witnessed this laughter directed at them; they must have felt the sting of the ridicule being heaped upon them.

————————–

But wait—the seventh day has arrived.

On the seventh day, the Israelites marched around the walls of Jericho seven times; and as they completed their seventh circuit, the trumpets sounded.

Joshua declared: “Shout aloud! For Jericho has been given into your hands!” On the seventh day, the host marched around the walls of Jericho seven times, and after the seventh circuit, the trumpets sounded.

Joshua declared, “Shout aloud, for Jericho has been delivered into your hands.”

The very foundations of Jericho’s walls shook, and the walls came crashing down.

————————–

Friends, your steadfastness in the Lord will soon bring down your Jericho.

Even when the host was circling the walls and there was no visible evidence of the walls collapsing, deep beneath the earth, the foundations of Jericho’s walls were already crumbling.

Their faithfulness to God’s Word was like an earthquake to the walls of Jericho.

Every step they took was like a volcanic eruption against those walls.

Visible evidence appeared negligible, yet invisibly, the walls were collapsing.

————————–

Your persistence in the Lord is the key to triumphing over your circumstances.

The Israelites remained silent throughout those six days, but the day finally arrived when they sounded the trumpets and shouted aloud in victory.

Your circumstances may have silenced you in life, but the day is coming when the trumpet of your victory will sound, and you will shout aloud in triumph.

Sincerely,

Brother Phinehas Martin
