I am writing from one of my Canadian provinces.  As you all have heard about the forest fires.  Some of my family members have been on evacuation notices, others have been given the go ahead to re-entry in their province. I am sure while in the evacuation centers, many have filled out forms for help and resources. I cannot imagine the grief, worry and emotional stress they are facing.   This reminds me when my family lived out west and we were on the edge of the tornado in 1987/8.  It was around supper time. The table was set, the food ready to serve, when we heard the wind pick up, the sky was rolling with colors.  As we lived on an acreage, we had a dug-out built into the side of the hill boarding our neighbor property. This was also our root cellar for storage of our garden products.  We hid in there until the storm abated, not knowing what we might find.  All was intact, but it was a very stress full and scary event. I still am when thunderstorms roll across my area.

There are many examples of life situations found in God’s WORD.  To mind comes the David, the shepherd, turned king.  He was a military man, yet he relied on God for direction, support and many military victories.  He was human as all of us, with a sinful nature, yet God used him to further His kingdom.  In his emergencies, he looked to God.
