Over the weekend, my husband and I celebrated six years of marriage. It was a beautiful day just being able to relax and spend time together, deliberately cutting everything and everyone out, so that we could just spend the time intentionally with each other, with no distractions. We reflected in joint prayer and with each other, about the ups and downs that we have encountered on the way in our marriage and I’m just so in awe of God, in the way that Jesus helped us overcome what the enemy meant to tear us apart with. The enemy obviously didn’t succeed in tearing us apart, but there have definitely been times that were rough and hard, for both Brett and I. With the love and strength of Jesus Christ, by putting Jesus first and as the foundation of our marriage, we have been able to forgive and love each other, in a way that I don’t think that most people normally would, because the love that Jesus has for both of us. His love for us individually and together in marriage, is the blueprint in which we are to always love each other and so that is how we have come through in the last six years.

I feel so incredibly blessed to have a husband who loves God more than he loves me and that my first love, will always be Jesus Christ. I can’t imagine how Brett and I would have made it this far without God.

Every morning, most mornings, there are exceptions, such as one of us is not feeling well. Generally speaking though, Brett and I read a chapter of the Bible each morning together, we take time out to pray together, and then we put on the full armour of God together, from Ephesians in The Bible.

From there I go and do my individual Bible studies, sing worship, pray on my own and then I consecrate myself with the Lord, sanctify myself with the Lord and then I seek prophetic spiritual guidance for my day from The Holy Spirit. If I don’t manage to get anything else done with my day, than I consider that okay, as long as I have spent the first fruits of my day with The Lord Jesus, that is what is most important to me for each day.

When I was unwell last week and missed being able to write and post a blog entry – on the upside something happened. Just as in the following scripture:

Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God

I rested in the arms of Jesus and I experienced this sense of peace that I have never experienced before. I also experienced joy in waking up to face the day ahead. This was all so new to me, as I am so used to waking up in the morning, feeling so painfully tired that I would just want to go back to bed, because I didn’t feel rested enough. So when I started to experience peace and joy in this way from Jesus, I just leaned into it and it was divine. It has to be one of the most wonderful experiences spiritually I have ever had. Just simply trusting in Jesus and then soaking in His presence has just got me even more addicted to spending personal time with Him. I’m just so grateful and thankful to the Lord for these spiritual gifts that He has given me. I pray and hope that you will be experience the peace and joy of Jesus Christ, in your mind, body and spirit, just as I have.

Blessings
